SkyTeam scoops Skift IDEA Award 2024 for Carry-on Calculator
AMSTERDAM, 26 September 2024 – SkyTeam has scooped a coveted Skift IDEA Award for its Carry-on Calculator, an innovative digital solution that takes the guesswork out of travel. The world’s leading travel news outlet, Skift’s annual awards recognize achievement for excellence in design, creativity, and innovation in the travel industry.
Launched in July 2023, the Carry-on Calculator gives customers the confidence of knowing their hand baggage complies with every airline in their itinerary when connecting between SkyTeam members. Customers simply enter their class of travel and the airlines they are flying with, and the calculator does the rest in seconds. Results are based on the most restrictive carry-on and personal item allowance for every flight.
SkyTeam’s award in the Airlines and Airports category recognizes the global airline alliance’s use of tech innovation to solve traveler challenges. Held this year at the Skift Global Forum event in NYC, the annual Skift IDEA awards are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.
The Carry-on Calculator is shortlisted in the Best Travel Digital Transformation category at the upcoming Mission Europe Awards and was a finalist in the Technology Innovation – Traveler Experience category at the recent Business Travel Awards Europe.
