Boston

Overview

Few American cities can rival Boston for history. Founded in 1630, it boasts some of the finest architecture in the country. The city's roots stretch back centuries, yet Boston retains its financial and educational relevance today. Boston and neighboring Cambridge are home to prestigious Harvard University, MIT, and other colleges and universities. The area is also an important center for biotechnology firms such as Merck & Co. and Genzyme Corporation. Tourism contributes around US$8 million to the economy each year.
