SkyTeam in India - With 78 weekly roundtrips and seven carriers serving India, SkyTeam is strengthening its position as the number one alliance serving one of the world's fastest growing markets.
As part of the upcoming winter schedule, beginning October 30, new SkyTeam carrier service to India will include Air France's service from Paris to Bangalore, KLM's service from Amsterdam to Hyderabad and Northwest's service from Amsterdam to Bangalore. Continental plans to launch the first nonstop service to India from the United States - from Newark to Delhi - November 1. This May Delta Air Lines launched service to Chennai, via Paris, with Air France codesharing on select flights.
The surge in outsourcing corporate support services has caused a significant increase in business travel to India. Revenue from foreigners traveling to India is expected to reach six billion USD this year and to grow to 24 billion USD by 2015, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council.
